Happenings with the Pennings (Summer 2002, Volume #2)

These are some more warmer weather shots taken. On mouse-over, you'll see a short description of each image. Click on the picture of your choice to see an enlarged version. (My apologies if these take a little while to download.)

Just stepped off the plan after spending a number of very long hours on the flight back from England. Look at those eyes. She's one very tired yet happy young lady. Snapped this picture as Biz was coming off the escalator at Hartsfield Airport. We had just caught her attention as she emerged from the throng. Our traditional in-front-of-the-fireplace shot. It was great having everyone together. Julia's first day off to school as a senior at Clarke Central. That's her Blazer in the background.
When this was taken, a couple of things had just happened. First, there was plenty of moisture about, hence the very lush greenery in the background. The other item was that Greg, Doug and I had just gone to see the new Spider-Man movie. This is reflected in Doug's hand gesture. Pretty good picture here, but we caught Doug in a rather pensive mood. Buddies. They had a concert at Burner-Harris-Lyons, Doug's middle school.
Doug was competing with a group of his friends once a week for a major portion of the summer. Everyone got a chance to bat a couple of times, whether on ambulatory or wheelchair bound. Funny how every hit seemed to turn out to be a home run. It was really a lot of fun, both for the kids and the parents. Doug made it all the way home on this one. After a hard evening of baseball, they had a pizza party for all the participants. Doug had just finished testing for his brown belt in taekwondo. Here he getting that belt from his teacher.
Action shot of Doug doing a front kick. Pretty good extension, eh? My current wheels. It is a 1969 VW Beetle.
